This building should have been a church, but in the
end became something different: a temple, but devoted to fame,
remembering people who were born or lived in Milan and made something
important out of their lives.

The walls are covered with names and faces,
and inside there are the tombs of Alessandro Manzoni, Carlo Cattaneo and
Luca Beltrami. Giuseppe Verdi is remebered here but his rests are in the
home for musician, Buonarroti square, while Giuseppe Mazzini is buried
in Genova (Staglieno cemetery) |
